THE COMPANY

Mecanizado Cremalleras de Dirección, S.L. (MCD, SL) is a family owned company founded in 1.997. It’s located in Júndiz, Vitoria (Spain). Its principal activity is machining Racks for medium-long batches.

MCD, is a production company, of auxiliary car components, whose process is based on the Just In Time philosophy, and fully covers customers’ expectations. This Just in Time philosophy, teamwork and the proximity with people and environment are part of MCD’s values.

The machining process is divided between 4 basic production areas with 22 non-stop production machines in continuous process. Nowadays, MCD has an established staff of  25 employees.

OUR PRODUCT: Steering racks

MCD is specialized in the manufacture ofsteering racks, for the OEM automotive industry in medium long batches.

Nowadays, the products range in MCD, steering racks are:

  • Eps belt drive

PRODUCTION RESOURCES

Production area: 3.000 m2

MCD has 6 independent production cells divided in drilling processes. It has manufacturing equipment that permits us to make gundrilling for drilling speeds ranging from 700 to 1.200 mm in length and 2 to 25
mm in diameter.

Drilling processes

It has manufacturing equipment that permits us to make gundrilling for drilling speeds ranging from 700 to 1.200 mm in length and 2 to 25mm in diameter.

Cutting

Straightening cell equipment permits long lengths 6,5 mts in diameters from 10 to 63 mm for round bars
with a cutting capability of 2 tons/hour.h

Machining

Double – head automatic lathes, equipped with automatic bar loading/unloading systems, linear machining
transfer of 5 steps.

Threading Machines

Transfer threading machine for internal threads with in-line verification system.

Grinding

Several céntreles grinding machines, for in-feed and through – feed aplications.

Manipulation equipment

MCD has manipulation equipment that permits the production and movements of load, by bridge crane
and by truck all over the plant.

Measurement system In-Line , Off-Line

To ensure a good quality in production, MCD incorporates different in-line and off-line measurements systems.

The processes in MCD are cutting, straightening, drilling, end machining, threading and grinding.
